Buzzelia, maybe.
That said, it's the Jetsons, there could be wacky sci-fi cloning explanations. It doesn't have to make a huge amount of sense. ![]() |

Working without pay is The Devil, and worth avoiding whenever possible. Which is always. "Spec work" is similar, in that you work for free now on the shaky promise that sometime down the line, usually "when the project's earning big moneys" you'll get your just rewards. This is almost universally crap - the vast majority of the time the project will tank, and you'll have put in a bunch of hours for no result. Never start a job without first agreeing to how much (and how soon) you will be paid.
Especially hilarious are the jobs that argue that working for them for free will be "good exposure". Anyone can get good exposure nowadays by putting up a portfolio website or updating a regular webcomic - the latter is very good because it shows that you can produce consistent work and meet deadlines, both traits that prospective employers like to see. |

I once dreamed that I was watching an episode of the new Jetsons where they introduced Buzz Jetson: The teenage sister of Judy and Elroy. (Or was she their cousin?) "But how could George and Jane suddenly get an extra kid like that?" Because it was a dream. And since it was a dream, it doesn't have to make sense. Besides, The Cosby Show started out with four kids then suddenly got five as if that were always the case. Also, Buzz doesn't exactly sound like a girl's name. My guess is that it's short of Buzzopia or some such thing.

On Craigslist, a lot of people ask for freelance artists -- including those who produce web comics -- to do work for them without pay. Of course these people have their reasons for expecting artists to work for free. But I, like most artists I assume, expect to get paid since we do live in a monetary-based economy. (Most of us do anyway.) Thus, I NEVER accept any freelance art jobs that don't pay. As for those who do accept freelance art jobs that don't pay, what the frak is the point? Are they expecting to get paid jobs once their pro bono art job is seen by others? Isn't it more likely that these "others" will also expect you to work for free? Just thought I'd bring that up. I also want to bring this up:

As I remember from php tutorial a good tip is to analyse your own content and then analyse your competitors' keywords. After choose 5-10 keywords

The main thing I notice about the art, really the colors, is that you use the dodge and burn tools. They don't make natural shading or highlights.
Try finding your own color palettes. Here's some links on color and shading I've collected: http://www.itchstudios.com/psg/art_tut.htm http://toerning.deviantart.com/art/A-Note-on-Light-and-Colour-93113938 Hmm I thought I had more. One thing I also learned from oddly enough was Pixel art palettes. Especially hue shifts. When you can only use a few colors to get your point across you learn how to create them easier. Oh my this post is old... I guess if you check here it could still be useful since I was looking at your newest works which are still current. |

Hola. I am AdamC the ambassador for Olympic Dames. I've come to learn and maybe make a few friends.
OD was created in 2002 and first put on the web in 2003. It moved to Deviantart in 2004 and less than a money ago came to reside on it's own webpage. It's a different world away from the protection of mother DA. Neither the artist nor the writer have any training in their chosen fields and probably need to be slapped around a bit. |

Well - I moved off stick figures directly to something inspired by Scott McCloud :-)

I would definitely agree on the writing - I found myself revising each script a few times, stepping back and seeing how everything worked together. The best art in the world won't help if the story/content isn't compelling.
I guess then my big problem now would be the inability to post more than once a week, but as I get better I'm expecting to speed up. At least I better, since I have a few other ideas that need to see the light of day :-) |
