Webcomics are still a comparatively new medium, operating around a strikingly different business model to the world of traditional print-based comics. The rules are different, and not always well-understood.
As a group we’re still exploring the techniques that can be applied to this new model, and for most webcomic creators it’s a matter of trial and error, figuring out what works and what doesn’t. By sharing notes and comparing experiences this process can be greatly accelerated, as we help one another to find the tactics that work and avoid those that don’t.
WeMakeWebcomics.com is a place for people who make webcomics to come together and talk shop – from the craft of making comics to the business of making a living from them. It’s a place to meet others, to trade tips and advice, to offer mutual support, or just to kick around ideas and enjoy the company of fellow creatives.
We welcome webcomic creators of all levels, from those just starting out to those with years of experience. It’s all good.
